SPACEHUNTER (1983) Publicity Stills

Today, I present a handful of B&W press stills I've collected online from the 1983 interstellar Western,  Spacehunter: Adventures In The Forbidden Zone. As I've written before, I'm a big fan of Spacehunter, and would have loved to see a few more adventures of Wolff (Peter Strauss) and Niki (Molly Ringwald). Alas, it was not meant to be....

  1. What?
No pix of Andrea Marcovicci (Chalmers)?
No shots of the three hotties (Aleisa Shirley, Cali Timmons, Deborah Pratt) Wolf is sent to rescue?

    And NO MICHAEL IRONSIDE???

At least you can watch it (in 2-D) on Hulu...

  3. Michael Ironside is many things, but especially in this flick, "lovely" ain't one of them! ;-)

    I'm working on the pix...

  4. I have never seen the whole thing. In the 90's local channels would show it on like Saturday afternoons and I would turn in somewhere in the middle and watch a few minutes. Then I'd turn it off because I wanted to see the whole thing and figured some time I'd catch it at the beginning.

  5. Saw this in 3-D at the multiplex. The drive-in next door was showing "Flesh Gordon", and I remember standing out in the theater parking lot watching the movie up on the screen without the sound. Wow, that seems like a loooong time ago!

  6. Fun movie. Took me years to finally check it out. Guess I was too preoccupied with Return of the Jedi back in the summer of '83. Definitely better than the abyssmal Jaws 3-D.

  7. Hey! I like Jaws 3-D! As awful as it was- at least it was still fun.

  8. Sorry Paul! I was trying to think of another movie from the summer of '83 and Jaws 3-D seemed liked an obvious choice. Maybe I should've said Superman III instead.

  9. Oh, I know Jaws 3-D is bad, but much like Jaws The Revenge I love watching it. I am still up in the air as to which one is worse. A lot of people say Revenge, but I tend to think 3 is the worst one. I watched Sapcehunter the other night and was amazed at how developed Molly Ringwald was. I didn't notice it as a kid, but man thoes things were bigger than my head. Pitty no sequels were ever made. This movie kicked serious buttox!

  10. One of my favorite sci-fi films. I caught it by accident, as I was taping Blade Runner off TV once and let it run, and Spacehunter was aired afterwards. Lucky me! They should re-release it on Blu-Ray now that we have 3D televisions.
